Field Trip to the Butterfly Pavilion

The Butterfly Pavilion was the nation’s first stand-alone non-profit invertebrate zoo. In its exhibits visitors interact with live invertebrates from around the globe.
The mission of the Butterfly Pavilion is to foster an appreciation of butterflies and other invertebrates while educating the public about the need for conservation of threatened habitats in the tropics and around the world.
We went mainly to see Rosie the tarantula, but the Butterfly Pavilion is worth the trip even if Rosie wasn’t there.
